As we’ve been moving the business from our home into our new office space, I’ve been reflecting on the humble beginnings of McGee Veterinary Service. Every great service is born from a simple need, and for us, that need was the deep, heartfelt wish for a less stressful vet visit. Our inspiration wasn't a business plan or a market analysis; it was a sweet, opinionated, senior dog named Georgia.
The Unofficial Mascot: Georgia's Motto

Meet Georgia. If she could speak, her motto would undoubtedly be: "No vetting, only petting!"
Georgia is the heart of our home, a sweet soul who loves naps, sunbathing, and neck scratches. What she absolutely doesn't love is the traditional veterinary experience. The car ride, the strange smells, the busy waiting room, and the cold exam table – it all adds up to a level of stress that completely unravels her.
Trying to get Georgia through a standard clinic visit was always a struggle – even when her owner was the veterinarian! We’d leave feeling exhausted and, frankly, heartbroken that we had to put her through such an intense ordeal just to get the care she needed.
A Lightbulb Moment: A Better Way to Vet
As we watched Georgia recover from a particularly rough visit, a simple question popped into our heads: Why can't the vet visit come to her? We began doing what we could for Georgia at home and only brought her to the clinic when we absolutely had to.
We eventually realized that if our sweet, anxious Georgia could benefit from cozy, familiar, at-home care, surely other pets – from the nervous cat to the large-breed dog who struggles with stairs – could too. That was the moment the idea for McGee Veterinary Service was truly born.
We realized the solution wasn't just about providing excellent veterinary medicine (that’s a given!), but about transforming the experience of receiving it.
Our Promise: Less Stress, More Comfort
McGee Veterinary Service is the direct result of Georgia’s intense dislike of traditional clinics. She taught us that the comfort of home isn't just a luxury – it's a critical component of compassionate care.
Today, we bring the veterinary clinic directly to your doorstep.
Say goodbye to: Stressful car rides, intimidating waiting rooms, and the hassle of rearranging your busy schedule.
Say hello to: Comprehensive, loving care administered right on your living room floor, your favorite armchair, or wherever your pet is most relaxed.
Georgia may have sparked the idea, but it’s the peace of mind we see on your pet’s face – and yours – that keeps us going. Our mission is to take the "vetting" out of the stressful environment and replace it with caring, comfortable, in-home "petting."
It has been a long journey to get to this point, and we’re proud of what we’re able to provide for our community. McGee Veterinary Service offers in-home veterinary care and peaceful at-home euthanasia to Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, New River, Anthem, Peoria, Glendale, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Sun City, and Sun City West.
