The news of "The Vets'" sudden closure sent ripples through the veterinary community. We know that their closure has been especially concerning for those who chose them for the convenience of mobile in-home veterinary care. Our hearts go out to the pet owners and staff affected by this difficult situation.
At McGee Veterinary Service, we want you to know we're here for you. As a local, family-owned practice, our mission has always been to provide reliable, personalized in-home care for every pet we serve.
The Stability of a Local Business
The Vets was a large, nationwide corporation focused on maintaining growth for their investors. The suddenness of their closure highlights the difference between a national model and a local, community-focused business like ours. As a small family-owned practice, our roots are right here in Phoenix. We aren’t just a brand; we're your neighbors, dedicated to building lasting relationships and providing consistent, trustworthy service for years to come.
We also believe in fair pricing for quality care. We found that The Vets' services and products were consistently at least 20% higher than ours, and their travel fee was as high as $199. At the time of writing, our travel fee is $75 – less than half of what The Vets' charged. This is part of McGee Veterinary Service's commitment to our community: ensuring that convenient in-home care is offered at a reasonable price, without the astronomical price tag often associated with corporations.
Obtaining Medical Records from The Vets
We understand that many of you are concerned about your pet's medical records. We've heard that The Vets' clients are having difficulty accessing these vital documents. This is a frustrating and difficult situation, and it underscores the importance of a stable, local veterinary partner. We wanted to pass along a tip we've heard from some pet owners: you may be able to request your records by emailing records@thevets.com.
For clients of The Vets who choose to transfer care to McGee Veterinary Service, we will attempt to obtain your pet's records on your behalf, though we can't guarantee a successful outcome. We are committed to making your transition to a new provider as smooth as possible. Our team can work with you to re-establish your pet’s health history, ensuring that they receive the best possible care from day one.
McGee Veterinary Service: Your New Long-Term Partner in Pet Health
We offer a wide range of in-home services including annual wellness exams, sick visits, lab work, vaccinations, management of chronic conditions, and end-of-life care. This ensures we can be a long-term partner in your pet's health. We are currently accepting new clients for all these services. We also believe in transparent pricing and will provide a detailed estimate before any service is rendered.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at 623-396-9185 to learn more about our services and how we can assist you. We look forward to welcoming you and your pets to our practice. We hope you’re excited to see what we can offer.
McGee Veterinary Service provides in-home veterinary care and peaceful at-home euthanasia to Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, New River, Anthem, Peoria, Glendale, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Sun City, and Sun City West.
