As the beautiful Arizona weather cools down and the holiday season begins, the entire team at Mobile Veterinary Service (MVS) wants to pause and share our deep gratitude. This year, we are especially thankful for the privilege of serving you and your cherished dogs and cats right in the comfort of your own home. Being invited into your space allows us to create a calmer, stress-free experience for your pets, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us to care for your family members from routine wellness to those difficult, sensitive moments.
We wish you and your loved ones (two-legged and four-legged alike) a truly warm, peaceful, and joyful Thanksgiving filled with wonderful memories.
Quick Thanksgiving Pet Safety Reminder
While it’s tempting to include our furry friends in the holiday feast, many common Thanksgiving foods are dangerous. To ensure a safe holiday, please ensure your pets DO NOT consume any of the following:
Bones, Fat, and Skin: Cooked bones (especially turkey) can splinter and cause internal damage. Fatty skin and rich gravies can cause painful and severe pancreatitis.
Onions, Garlic, and Chives: These ingredients, often found in stuffing and mashed potatoes, are toxic to both dogs and cats and can damage red blood cells.
Grapes & Raisins: Even small amounts can cause acute kidney failure in dogs.
Chocolate or Desserts with Xylitol: Chocolate is toxic, and the common artificial sweetener Xylitol is extremely toxic, causing rapid drops in blood sugar and liver failure.
If you suspect your pet has ingested any of these items, please contact a veterinary emergency clinic immediately.
Holiday Hours Notice
MVS will be closed on Wednesday, November 26th and Thursday, November 27th, so our team can celebrate with their families. We will resume normal mobile service hours on Friday, November 28th. For urgent care needs during the closure, please contact a local emergency veterinary clinic.
Happy Thanksgiving!
